Mukambi Safari Lodge is situated right on the Kafue River. From one of the three large viewing decks you will be able to enjoy the river and its inhabitants: hippos, crocodiles, birds and local fishermen. On the opposite side of the river you might see your first elephants.
The luxurious and fully furnished chalets have an ensuite bathroom and verandah from which you will be able to take in the beauty of the mighty Kafue River while enjoying a drink. Each chalet sleeps two people in either a double or twin four poster bed, made out of original teak wood. Electricity is supplied 24 hours by an eco-friendly solar power system.
Alternately you can choose to go back to basics and stay in Mukambi's "bush camp" - seven thatched tents with communal ablution block and no electricity at all. Mukambi also has a family villa.
Activities focus on game drives, river cruises and walking safaris.
The main attraction of most safaris is the wildlife - find out what to expect here.
River cruises offer a different perspective on the bush and can be the only means of transport during rainy season!
There are many lodges and hotels in Africa that positively encourage families with young children to stay - find out more by clicking here.
Just because it may rain doesn't mean you can't enjoy a magical safari at a time with few visitors and stunning scenery.
The only way to get truly acquainted with the African bush is to see it on foot. Walking safaris offer a unique insight into an amazing habitat.
